Our team is a small community where specialists of different nationalities live and build the IT future of Uzbekistan. Here, language is not a barrier to successful development, and relocates make a significant contribution to the formation of the company.
Meet Anton Balashov, business analyst at GWS. Today he will share his impressions of moving to sunny Uzbekistan and plans for the next 10 years.
About me...
I was born and raised in Moscow. I graduated from a school with in-depth study of foreign languages and the Moscow Open Institute in the direction of "Management - Project Management".
As a child, I wanted to have my own store with PC components so that I would have access to new hardware at any time and would not have to explain to my parents what a video card is, why it is outdated and why only a certain type of processor will fit my motherboard.
Getting to know the world of IT...
My father has always been interested in technology at an amateur level, so we always had a personal computer at home. As I grew older, my interest in this device grew. It all started with games and upgrading PCs for new games, and in middle and high school I had to bypass the restrictions set by my father to reduce the amount of time spent at the PC. Both software and hardware restrictions. Then I realized that there are no ideal systems and any problem can be solved in different ways. By the end of school, I learned how to create and place primitive sites on the network using HTML templates, then I got acquainted with Joomla and Wordpress content management systems. At the same time, I got acquainted with database management systems and SQL.
Moscow - Istanbul - Tashkent: geography of work
I "started" my career with a part-time job: I developed business card sites.
Later I put together my own site, optimized it for a good position in Yandex search results. In this way, I collected orders - I went to repair PCs and assembled PCs, or solved software problems.
After graduating from university, I began my career at Aeroflot. Worked with passengers, temporarily replaced the head of the airline's representative office in Istanbul, worked as a manager and expert from his department during the modernization of the accounting system for passengers placed in hotels during flight cancellations/delays, modernization of the GDS/DCS Sabre passenger booking and dispatch system to meet the company's requirements and the subsequent transition to a Russian analogue.
In Uzbekistan, through friends, I was invited as a manager to a project to develop a job search portal called Tez Ish Bor. Unfortunately, the portal never launched. But thanks to this, I moved to a sunny country, where I really like it.

IT CARD
Any country needs people who have and know how to obtain and apply knowledge and experience, and Uzbekistan is no exception. The actively developing IT industry confirms this need, providing many opportunities for professional growth. The opportunity to apply for IT VISA and IT CARD for foreign citizens has become an important step of the government. Visa holders can use the rights and opportunities on an equal basis with citizens of the country - this helps to adapt faster and consider long-term residence and career building in Uzbekistan.
Also, the country's leading places in life safety ratings strengthen my confidence in the correctness of the decision to move. I see Uzbekistan as a great place to work and live for me and my family.
Work at Green White Solutions
In March 2023, a GWS representative contacted me and offered to interview for the company for the position of business analyst. I became interested, got to know the company, went through all the stages and already in April I started working for the Uzpharminfo project.
I feel at home
Mutual respect between the company's employees and the desire to find a common language are very important to me. I see and feel it at GWS. Everyone is tolerant, and this is very important in the modern world! I feel at home, although I am far from it!
The company develops complex products in various fields. Working on them and solving emerging problems, you can gain valuable experience. New tasks are an incentive for growth and development. There are no routine tasks for GWS employees, they are often updated and pose new challenges for employees. It's cool!
Tashkent is a city not only of bread and friendship. It is a city of open people. I fell in love with pilaf, juicy melons and watermelons, hot flatbreads with kaymak! The bazaars of Uzbekistan are a separate world of colors! Such an abundance of fruits and vegetables can not be seen everywhere!
Different projects - the same attitude
In the company, I managed to work on several projects. It is interesting that in the company the scale of the project does not matter - the attitude to everyone is the same: high demands on the results! At the moment, most of my time is devoted to the Billing project, but I started working on the Uzpharminfo project. My acquaintance with the company began with it and if there is a project close to me, it is Uzpharminfo.
There are 10 people in our team. We work following the scrum guide. The processes are regulated, and we adhere to them.

My favorite books
I prefer to read books that expand my knowledge. For example, the latest books I read:
1. "Deadline. A Novel about Project Management" by Tom DeMarco is an interesting and instructive story that reveals the complexities of project management.
2. "Difficult Subordinates. Practice of Russian Managers" by Maxim Batyrev is a practical guide for managers that helps to effectively manage difficult subordinates.
Free time
I prefer to devote my free time to my family - long walks in the capital's parks, visiting all kinds of events. I like spending time with friends. I also try not to miss the gym.
In winter, I went to Amirsoy to go snowboarding, an excellent complex. I like to play volleyball. My views differ with my colleagues only on one thing - football! Many of our guys are ardent fans of one or another club, but I don't support anyone!
Looking into the Future
In 10 years, I want to feel completely financially independent and a recognized expert doing what I love. I strive to ensure that my work brings not only material satisfaction, but also moral satisfaction. It is important that I am surrounded by honest and loving people with whom I can share my successes and joys. My goal is to create a harmonious combination of professional growth, personal happiness and stability.
At Green White Solutions, we are different, but we are united by friendship, mutual respect and a common goal. Working on various projects in different departments, we are all building a friendly and strong IT company that will become the pride of Uzbekistan and Asia!
